Progressiveness means more than just nice talks
The Social Justice Group is very happy with response received from both the public and the rival political parties and groups.

“The public showed big support for the campaign, with expressing big loss of confidence in existing political parties. The reaction from public was very encouraging” said Jamal Daoud, spokesperson for the group.

“The reaction from rival political parties indicates their vulnerability to criticism and public accountability. We should remind people about the threats we received, dirty campaign of ripping off our posters, official complaints to the electoral commissioner (which involved lying and deception), physical attacks and vandalism of property. All these are positive indication that our message of no vote in them is getting through to public”

“Unfortunately, we believe that most of these dirty tactics were conducted by the so-called progressive parties. They are very scared from voters coming into terms with reality: reality of their political and moral bankruptcy”

“The latest was the tactic of trying time and time again to implicate the group with the so-called “war on terror” by linking the group with Hamas and Hizboullah. The latest was the attack on the group through the racist 2GB radio station. The left groups resorted to the right wing commentators to try to persecute us by the “anti-terrorism legislation””

These groups wanted to tell us before that they oppose these draconian legislations. They also wanted to convince the public that they believe in “clean politics” and transparent principled politics. We saw how they showed high tendency to enter negotiation with the extreme-right Liberals to secure preference deals.

The most important result of the campaign would be the exposure of these political forces, which pretend to do something, but practice the opposite. The public is getting the message not to trust them.

“The group’s main focus in the aftermath of the election is to present credible alternative to the existing parties, who claim to have monopoly on the representation of the left in this country. Progressiveness means more than just seeking to legalise ice, same-sex marriage and encourage abortion”

Progressiveness means to seek practical multiculturalism with equal representation of the marginalised groups in the decision making process.
